ATV Hunting Accessories
An ATV provides the best way to get to the best hunting grounds. And while an ATV is often helpful for hunting straight from the factory, it can be made even better with a few accessories. The accessories below will give you more utility from your ATV and make your hunting experience even better.

Gun Boot/Scabbard
Four wheelers are meant to handle just about any type of terrain, and that can often lead to a bumpy ride. Guns, especially long guns with expensive optical equipment, aren’t always well suited for handling this jostling. A gun boot, otherwise known as a rifle scabbard, is probably the best way to keep your rifle secure and sighted in as you ride. The added benefit is it will protect your gun from mud and water as you ride, so you’ll have less of a chance of your gun jamming or having other operational problems.
Winch
A winch has several uses for a hunter. If you’re riding in rough territory where mud, marsh, and swamp can make it easy to get stuck, a winch will help you get back on your way. When it comes time to haul your game back into town, you can use the winch to pull it closer to the vehicle. If you’re creative, you could also use a pulley and use the winch to raise larger game into the air for butchery.
Rope and Tie Downs
When it’s time to haul your game back into town, you’ll probably need some ropes, tie down straps, or ratchet straps to make sure you can get it back without problems. Many of these items are basically interchangeable, so it’s probably best to just choose the type of security method you prefer. If you know a handful of knots, consider the rope, which can have many uses. If you’d rather have a more modern solution, go for the ratchet straps.
Camouflage Cover
Most people like to put some space between themselves and their ATV when they actually climb into their hunting blind. A camouflage cover will help to keep your ATV hidden so it doesn’t attract attention from wildlife. It will also shield it from the rain and the elements, and it can even hide it from the eyes of other hunters.
Cargo Rack
Not all ATVs come with a high-quality cargo rack, but a good cargo rack is extremely helpful for hunters. Cargo racks make it much easier to tie down your game when you’re heading back to town. They also make it easier to carry any other gear like hunting stands or day packs. Even when you’re not hunting, a cargo rack will make many practical tasks much easier. Similar to a cargo rack, a storage box will give you more ability to bring the gear you need, whether that’s on a hunting trip or otherwise. It can be helpful to use a cargo box in the rear and a cargo rack in the front (or vice versa) so that you have more flexibility for how you carry cargo.
