Storage

Most ATV designs don’t leave much room for a storage, but that doesn’t mean you’ve got to leave your gear behind! Get a cargo box to give your cargo rack a little extra stability and keep plenty of gear right behind you while you ride. If you’re looking for easier access to your gear, then forgo the cargo box and add a cargo basket onto the back end of your ATV and keep all of your gear within arms reach while you’re on the trail!

Winch

There are few accessories you can add to your ATV that are going to be as useful as a winch. Winches allow you to get the most out of your vehicle, and can give you a little extra peace of mind when you head out. If your buddy gets himself stuck in the mud, or you find a tree that you just can’t scramble over, a good winch will help you get solve your problem in a snap. Make sure you choose a winch that fits the power of your ATV so you don’t drain your battery and wind up in just as much trouble as you’ve avoided. Winch rope comes in two common forms: wire, and synthetic, so make sure you choose the winch that will meet your needs.

LED Lights

Whether you’re heading out for chores before dawn or coming back from a long ride after dusk, there’s one ATV accessory that you won’t regret having: extra lights. With the increasingly common prominence of LED light bars, you can build a fairly affordable light setup for your ATV that’s customized for the kind of riding you do, whether you’re looking for a wide spread so you have strong peripheral vision, a long cast of light so you can see far down the trail, or a combination of both, LED lights are an affordable and practical addition to almost any ATV. Just like a winch, you should be mindful when choosing a light setup so you don’t overload your ATVs power capabilities and sap your battery.

GPS

Sure there’s that old joke about how guys don’t want to stop and ask for directions, but when you’re out in the backcountry getting turned around is no laughing matter. GPS devices have become smaller, more accurate, and more affordable in the past few years, so there’s no reason every ATV rider shouldn’t have one of these on hand. Most GPS units let you load up your planned route so you can always stay on track. Of course, if you’re riding with your GPS, make sure you pack an extra set of batteries, just in case.
